Creating custom kicks

Clicking links from blog to blog to blog, I came across a great post about hand-painted shoes on Smitten and Hazel. With just an old pair of Keds and a few fabric markers, Weronika grabbed some stark white canvas sneakers and took them from plain to amazeballs.

Coincidentally, while unpacking and cleaning this weekend, I found my own old dingy pair of Keds, and of course I got to thinking. Why not paint my own kicks?

I wish I would have thought of this before I’d hit the craft store this past weekend. This now warrants another trip! Have you got any suggestions of what I should paint on my shoes? What would you do—or have you done—with your own shoes?
