Shirt: Old Navy (summer 2011)
Tank top: Old Navy (spring 2012)
Skirt: Lane Bryant (summer 2009)
Earrings: Lane Bryant (summer 2010)
Necklace: gift from parents (Christmas 2011)
Shoes: Dansko at The Walking Company (spring 2012)

Last Tuesday was warm and humid. I was heading out after work for my first meeting with a local secular/humanist discussion group. I’m learning how to meet people and make friends in my new city. I went with something simple and comfortable.

I totally forgot about this necklace! It was a gift from my parents a couple Christmases ago. While there’s no green in the rest of the outfit, I think the color and the style fit in well.

Oh, these shoes. I ran across a link to them a while back, maybe on Pinterest? They are super cute, like my Vans and my Chucks, but because they’re Dansko, they actually have some support and are quite comfortable for walking.

  1. Mia says:

Ooh, secular humanism! Our local atheist group is semi-run by my boyfriend’s best friend’s father, and I think it’s largely composed of middle-aged white guys, otherwise I might be more excited to go. I’m still trying to figure out how to meet people and make friends around here, though, so maybe it’s worth a shot.

  2. The discussion group I attended seemed to be fairly diverse with gender, race, and age. I’ll find out soon if that’s the group in general or if it was just that discussion. meetup.com is helping me find some interesting things to do as I figure my way around my new city.
